Prima Luce Explained
A lot of people may not know why I call my business "Prima Luce Photography." It means first light, or daybreak. When I first started taking pictures on my little Canon point and shoot camera i would get frustrated that the camera always made images dark and never captured the sunlight as the human eye sees it. Cameras are built to automatically expose everything correctly, or as best it can, so if an area is bright, it will darken it. The problem with this is that it's not real...we don't walk onto a sun porch, or walk through a field at sundown and see darkness. We see LIGHT. I love it when the sun streams through my windows and creates beams of light full of warmth. THAT is what I want my images to portray, and create...the feeling of being wrapped up in sunlight. While not EVERY situation and image calls for that, at least once during every photo shoot I try to attain that feeling. Here are some of my favorites from the past two years that I've been doing photography to show you what I'm talking about.

The curse of the photographing momma
I have this curse....
when the sun hits my front double windows on a beautiful afternoon, my camera just seems to find it's way into my hands, and then i proceed to snap 356 photographs of my kids. This time Owen absorbed most of the brunt of it, although the other kids got in on it too...sorta....

Baby A
Last weekend I traveled down to Georgia to take some pictures of my sweet little 1st cousin once removed....which means my cousin's baby girl, lol. Relationships are complicated :)
This little baby girl was 3 weeks old so she fought sleeping through her photo shoot, and was not having ANY diaper removals, but i think she was just trying to work the camera! Who wants to SLEEP for photos?! So here they are, a sweet baby girl and her pretty momma!
